How are we different from other Dairy Consultants?

Louise is a Sharefarming Specialist, she has spent years studying and understanding the legislation governing sharefarming relationships, the contracts themselves, what makes a successful relationship, and what will put a farm owner or sharefarmer at very serious legal and financial risk before the season has even begun.

The Sharefarming Consultants came from wanting to support farmers to have the right tools, knowledge and support to have successful relationships with the people on their farm right from recruitment through to the end of the agreement.

We will provide the same advice and support that other farm systems consultants do, but with the primary focus being on finding the right people solution for your budget and your farm, applying good farming practice to ensure a thriving farm as a result.

What we do

Sharefarming Consulting

Business to business relationships like Sharemilking and Contract Milking need the right structure, care and attention to detail to thrive. They are not a “sign the contract” and hope for the best type deal.

We prefer to help you from woe to go but we are here to step in at any point and help get things (and the farm) back on track.

We offer a range of services to support Sharefarming relationships, including:

  • Contact completion and signing

  • Contracts that come with support (and no membership)

  • Writing your farm policy tailored to your farm and the two businesses working on it

  • A start of term audit where we document the condition of the farm for both parties to prevent disputes later

  • House inspections

  • Monthly meetings to keep communication professional and on-track, with farm systems advice applied where required.

Farm Systems Consulting

Farmers everyday are faced with new challenges outside of their control from prices paid to prices received, the weather, and government regulation.

Knowing how to adapt so everyone comes along on the journey and remains profitable is a unique skill that not all consultants have.

Louise is a farm owner herself and has a background in farm systems. She understand how to implement good farming practice for everyone on farm, so the whole farm can thrive and be profitable.

Employment Support

Our in-house HR consultant is here to answer all your employment related queries, without a membership. We also now have our own employment agreement that is simple and easy to use but meets all current legislation (and is updated more than once every 3 years)

Emma can support you with:

  • Recruitment

  • How to use the contract (and support to complete it where needed)

  • Perfermance conversations and management

  • 90 day trials

  • Accommodation inspections

  • Abandoment of employment

  • Navigating ACC,. holidays and sick leave

Safety on Farm

We have well and truly drunk the cool aid around safety on farm - just because doing something in a way that could kill you hasn’t killed you yet, it doesn’t mean it won’t or it won’t harm someone else.

New Zealand agricultural statitistics on safety are appalling. Not only do we want to support you in meeting your legislative requirements but we want to be part of the change in giving farm owners, sharefarmers and employees the best chance of getting home safe to their families every single day.

Keith is our health and safety specialist who will work with you to start you on this journey.
